This video was taken Mid-January with the temperature at 76°. Cave Creek Arizona has a lot of bars and restaurants and is a very popular ride destination for the Phoenix Arizona area. Cave Creek Arizona has a very similar vibe to Julian California which is about 50 miles out of San Diego. They’re both old gold mining towns and very popular ride destinations.

Cave Creek Arizona has a very similar vibe to Julian California which is about 50 miles out of San Diego. They’re both old gold mining towns and very popular motorcycle ride destinations.
The big difference between Cave Creek Arizona and Julian California is the altitude. Cave Creek Arizona is at 2,126 feet and out the dude and Julian, is at 4,226 feet. So, you have a difference of over 2,100 feet between them and so, a drastic difference in the landscape. Julian has lots of pine trees and gets snow in the winter. Cave Creek has large cactus and no snow, so it’s more like the high desert.
Personally I think the ride up to Julian from San Diego is much more fun and definitely more scenic than the ride up from Phoenix to Cave Creek.
