Motorcycle Crash Newport Beach

by Oakley

Motorcycle Crash – Should you wear protective clothing?

While exiting the 55 to get onto PCH, the one lane opened up into two. The girl, having already cut us off once a few seconds prior, started to the left lane, so my buddy started going to the right. She changed her mind and cut in front of him. He locked up his rear brake, slapped the tank and went down.

Looking back now, he could’ve swerved, not panic braked, or at least wore some gear, but hey, he learned and lived to ride another day.

There was a couple grand in damage, and some tore up epidermis. He was able to ride the bike home and we didn’t have any further incidents.

Oh, and this was my first bike ride after having my license lol. Was riding my neighbor’s bike at the time; a 1993 Honda F4i

I loved my bike in my early 20’s but they really aren’t worth the risk….

They have to move the bike as fast as possible, if there would be any cars or motorcycles after him they could drive into it. They saw that he could stand up and decided to move the bike instead.

One question, why would you speed up and try to get closer to getting in a accident with a driver that could be dangerous to your health. As far as I am concerned you need some common sense and should not be on a bike. Stay off bikes and try something safer.

I reviewed the clip again and noticed you speeding up when she was riding a solid white line. That should have registered in your head that maybe she was going to change lanes. She did and you were pissed off and did speed up passing cars on your left to try to prove a point to her or yourself. You felt the consequences in doing this and I hope you learned a lesson and better riding skills. I have been riding for only a few years and practice good skills. Don’t let your ego get you into trouble. If you do you will not last very long without getting hurt. Hopefully your accident made you really think twice about what happened. You were very lucky this time. Drive safe.
