It’s really quite simple and can be summed up in one sentence Harley-Davidson has priced themselves out of business.
Harley-Davidson price for new in 2025 has gone off the rails from 2024, the 2025 Harley touring models are out and they are priced $1800 bucks more than 2024.
Harley Davidson Going Broke?
The CEO said years ago he wants to turn Harley into a premium brand. That means fewer individual sales at higher prices. The guy is doing exactly what he said.
Just heard they are getting rid of there 3rd shift at the York, Pa soon. Just maintenance will still be working for now.
There’s no mention here of how Harley-Davidson screwed many of their customers over with their “Twin Cam” engines of the early – mid 2000’s. They won’t even admit that there was a problem with them, but if you try to trade in a Twin Cam bike, they offer you pennies on the dollar unless it’s been “fixed” by replacing the cheaply made chain tensioners and chain-driven cam sprockets with actual gears, like H-D used to use “back in the day”. Those engines are only good for maybe 20K miles before the timing chain tensioners self destruct, sending shrapnel throughout the entire engine, rendering it un-repairable. And – the necessary replacement parts aren’t even made by Harley-Davidson!
