A lot of people say that if you ride a motorcycle you have to be a little crazy. Well, as a longtime motorcycle rider, I say if you ride a motorcycle in the snow, you are crazy!
Motorcycle riders here in Southern California sometimes don’t realize how great we have it! Now, don’t get me wrong did a lot of stuff that’s wrong with California, but the weather is certainly not one of them!

I remember reading someplace that the weather here in San Diego California was considered one of the three best climates in the world. One of the other locations with a similar climate was the French Riviera.

I’m originally from the East Coast. When I was back there and riding motorcycles I never recall seeing anybody riding in the snow. As a matter of fact, the motorcycle insurance companies most popular policy was one for just six months of the year. Most East Coast writers got on the road sometime in April, and usually garaged it by the end of September.

one of the more popular rides here in San Diego is riding up to Julian California which is about 50 miles East of San Diego and that a mile high elevation. Julian is an old gold-mining town now transformed into a popular tourist spot for San Diego and and visitors to our town. Because of the high elevation, they do have a little snow in the winter and a lot of apple orchards. A great ride on a lot of twisty roads up, great mountain scenery, and the perfect place for a slice of local apple pie in the Fall.
