A motorcycle ride from San Diego Harley-Davidson to Julian California on a great San Diego day.
1869 gold was discovered in Coleman Creek, just west of Julian. Even today, if you know where to go, you can still find a few gold flakes in Colman Creek. Today, Julian is more of a tourist town, better known for its apple pies than for gold mining. Though, there is an inactive gold mine that does provide tours for the tourist, right in the heart of town.
As Julian is located high in the Cuyamaca mountains, at over 4200 feet in elevation. It provides a very popular motorcycling destination with abundant back country scenery and lots of curvy roads.
The motorcycles in this video are two Harley-Davidsons, a Big Dog Chopper and my American Ironhorse Texas Chopper.
