Motorcycle Accident Lane-splitting California

Motorcycle Accident Lane-splitting California

This is in California where motorcycle spitting is legal. Yes, its legal in California because its statistically safer than getting crunched between to cars.

In a total unbiased opinion, I think it’s the cars fault. he was illegally changing lanes out of the carpool into a pretty tight space (no reason to do that). Even if this wasn’t in CA, I still think it’s the cars fault. If it is in Ca then it is 100 percent the cars fault
Lane splitting has been proven to be safer. It keeps you out of possibility to get rear ended, which end up causing more injuries than crashes like this. There is evidence to this. In my opinion the rider was splitting a bit too fast, but that car obviously didnt look before they turned.

Motorcycle rider comments:

Drove this freeway every day for five years.
The orange crush.

Cars cannot pass the double yellow!

Motorcycle Accident Lane-splitting California  * Note a photo that was used here (now removed) was mistakenly used in this post & it was not from lane-splitting but occurred while biker was stopped at a red light, and was rear ended by a female driver who was texting.

I got a nice settlement.

Im recording with the Archos AV500 with the helmet cam add on.

My gear that day.
Scorpion Exo helmet
Tourmaster Jacket with armor
Tourmaster Pants with armor
A10 Armor Spine protector
Alpinestar boots

Still fractured my shoulder.

The cop told me that the cam is the best insurance. Many guys I know wish they had a cam when they got hit.

Now I have both the AV500 and the 605wifi.

I ride in California and split all the time. From my understanding you’re only supposed to go no faster than 10mph past the speed of 30mph traffic. So therefore you can’t split going over 40mph. I don’t follow this rule all the time, depending how patient I am and where I’m trying to get to but it looks like here this whole collision could have possibly been avoided if he was going a little slower. And are you even allowed to split on a double yellow? I didn’t think it was allowed.
