Motorcycle Helmet Concept

This is the Official Concept Video of the iC-R (Intelligent Cranium) Motorcycle Helmet.

I understand that the manufacturer is now promising that this helmet will also have a built-in front mounted camera. The specifications of the camera were not released but I sure hope it’s at least 4K with some type of remote on all feature. I also read that they are going to be using Google maps for their built-in navigation.

What you see is the concept and not the final version. This is also the purpose which is to get feedback from you as the viewers and consumers. Your opinions matter to us in producing and releasing the final version of the iC-R Helmet.

I understand that this is still as a concept and there is a crowdfunding substantial discount for those who want to help with its development through early order. But, for me personally, I wouldn’t mind paying more to wait for the final version to be released. I think this is a much more conservative approach because many crowdfunding projects never seem to come to fruition, that alone and up offering all the features  stated added then competitive price.

You see, a lot of times the designing and getting geared up for final manufacturing, and up with a product that even though  it may offer many of the original features stated, because of the long time and development ( yes many of these types of projects  are inevitably extended way beyond the original anticipation ship date), other major manufacturers within the same field come out with a competing product that not only offers most of the same features but at a price well below even those who got in on the preorder discount. So, in essence the early adapters love the concept and took a big chance and ended up overpaying or actually getting a product that has a feature list that is surpassed by the then current major manufacturers. This is why I don’t mind paying extra for a product that’s ready to ship and has been reviewed by a number of independent resources.

I like the idea of cameras to reduce blind spots, warning lights, and tented shield, but videos on shield can be distractions and useless if shield is up. Led warning lights should be good enough. Bluetooth is nice for calls but you have to guarantee windproof or calls are too noisy. Keep it simple or you will sell very few. Too many bells and whistles will make these more dangerous than helpful for riders and others. My guess is that in near future, new bikes will come with blind spot warnings which could make this even more of a risk to purchase for the price.

Amazing, all this technology and the end user still struggles with a comfortable helmet. I wish there was a manufacture that was interested in selling a comfortable helmet at an affordable price. I have suggested a way to do this but I guess it isn’t something they can overprice to make the profit.
