From the motorcycle video taping the ride with his wife in the lead: Riding through the Santa Cruz mountains when my wife hit a pothole on her Suzuki SV650. She ended up going head first into on coming traffic.
Luckily the driver was going slow which is very rare for this road. Her head went under the car and hit the front axle but she wasn’t hurt because the car had stopped just as her head hit. Any faster and she would have broke her neck.m

It’s an awesome looking bike. I’d ride one if it were a reasonable price and range of at LEAST 200 miles. Otherwise good luck getting riders to buy one.

This motorcycle rider was surprisingly OK and actually road his bike home after his Triumph high-sided on a section of Mulholland Highway called the Snake.

The motorcycle rider said he was concentrating on the guy behind and the turn took him completely by surprise. He panicked & hit the rear brake only. (more…)

This was the first test of having my Yuneec Typhoon Q500 automatically follow me while I’m riding my American Ironhorse Texas Chopper.

Prior to the development of the ‘watch me’ and ‘follow me’ modes for UAVs, there would have to be a separate drone operator to follow the motorcycle rider. Now, this can be done with just one person … the motorcycle rider themselves! (more…)

San Diego Motorcycle Accident

November 6, 2015 – I was driving Northbound on I-5 in San Diego this morning when I captured this motorcycle crash on my G1W-C dashcam. It’s amazing this rider walked away from the accident; his helmet definitely saved his life! Thanks to the great people who took the few seconds out of their day to stop and help this guy.

Comments:

It looks like he misjudged the cars speed and coming to a stop in front of him, and used too much of his rear break instead of his front tire breaks. A bike should be able to stop or slow down much easier than a car. But without experience or simply having a groggy morning can cause a misjudgment for even 1 sec and ends up in these kind of accidents. (more…)
