Arizona Chopper Motorcycle Ride
December 2020 Arizona Chopper Motorcycle Ride
This is a ride on my 2017 Big Dog k9 clone just about 10min. north of my new home in Peoria Arizona.
For now, I’d like to point out that the first thing I noticed writing around the Western part of the Phoenix Valley, was that the roads are very well maintained and also clean of roadside trash. Now I’m not talking just about the major freeways but also all the local community roads.

Considering that the winter temperatures here in the evenings can drop below freezing and the summer temperatures can easily hit 115°, it’s amazing that the roads and highways are in such good condition. Oh, by the way, the gasoline price here is at least the dollar a gallon cheaper than San Diego! I know it may sound strange, but I really think they use the gas tax here to improve the roads and maintain them versus in California, where the majority of the tax is siphoned off into the general funds or as just demonstrated about a year ago, into the funding for the bullet train to nowhere!
This video was shot in mid December 2020 and the temperature was in the mid 60s. The camera that I’m using is a 360° camera mounted on a self the stick, for this video right under the headlight, pointing out toward the front wheel. Besides the regular motorcycle vibration, having a camera mounted out on a 2 foot stick, creates a lot of vibration. But, because of the incredible built-in stabilization, you can see how great the video turned out. One of the other advantages of using a 360° camera, is that you never have to worry about pointing it in a specific direction, it films everything!
The camera is mounted stationary on the self the stick, and all the movement in the video where it pans around from first pointing at me to swinging around in a 360° circle, is all done in post production.
This camera films in 5.7k resolution! I reduced the resolution to 4K for posting on YouTube. For the best possible viewing, if you have a smart 4k large screen TV, be sure to view it there. Or, if you’re playing the video clip, down on the lower right hand side under the video, you should see a settings button and change the settings to the highest possible and then play back the video. If you find that there is buffering, it would be because your Internet connection cannot handle the super high definition, and so, reduce the resolution so it can play on your computer without buffering.
If you’re really into motorcycles, and would like to film some of your rides, I definitely recommend this camera over a GoPro!
