This San Diego motorcycle event took place at San Diego Harley Davidson. these demo days are really a great opportunity to compare the bike your riding with the latest model Harley.
It used to be that when you thought about Harley you thought about a real big motorcycle saddlebags windshield and unfortunately a huge price. Now, these bikes are still around, but to try to gain market share, I believe the low end of the Harley line starts at 500cc and under $7000! For their top-of-the-line bikes, Harley has their 1,923cc touring bikes that weigh in around 940 pounds, and will set you back around $43,000!
Well, these demo days are great way to get a feel for the new motorcycles without having to spend a dime! Personally, if I was considering spending around 40 grand for new motorcycle, you bet I’m going to ride that bike to be sure it’s the one for me! (more…)
Video shows road rage incident in Sarasota, driver intentionally rams motorcyclist off road.
It’s awful. The motorcyclist could have been killed. I know he was being a jerk, but that doesn’t give the motorist the right to damn near kill him.
THE BIKER IS TO BLAME !! This morning on the news the biker was video’d saying, “It doesn’t matter how aggressive I was riding . . . ” I am SORRY !! It does matter. As my dad would have told me. “You got what you deserved!” Sorry, I am a biker. I ride my bike 100% of the time so I do understand what bikers deal with . . . but if you are riding like you should not . . . well, “You got what you deserved!” (more…)
The Shovelhead engine was created as the previous Panhead engine was becoming obsolete, with many Harley-Davidson owners demanding more power to compete with the more modern motorcycles. Throughout the Shovelhead’s run, the engine had many different changes made to it to improve power, cooling and oil consumption. The engines had only 10 fins for cooling, which caused them to run hot. Another problem was that oil would pool in the cylinder heads, causing it to leak into the valves and burn oil. (more…)
The newer Big Dogs come with an S&S 124 engine. With the huge 300mm rear tire and a length over 9′, it takes a few rides to get used to the power & handling.
The head-turning looks and sound of this flagship of the Big Dog line is certinally not for everyone! The bike is NOT hard to ride, but as a factory produced custom chopper, I belive it has no equal! (more…)
If Harley Davidson is the Titanic, the pandemic might just be that one big iceberg. Worse still, it had a hole in the hull and sputtering engines before all this even began. Damn. Is HD done for?
The famous quote about Harleys ” Over 90% of Harleys built since 2000 are still on the road,, the other 10% made it home”
‘Giant Mobility Scooter’. The best line I’ve heard in a long time! (more…)
