Sold my 2006 American Ironhorse Texas Chopper last week. This is a video of the last ride of my Texas Chopper away from my home with it’s new owner.
I’ve been riding motorcycles for about 50 years and this was the best motorcycle I ever owned!
With the publication of this video just two days ago, it seems certain that Big Dog Motorcycles is going to have a new 2020 trike model.
It seems quite a few Big Dog Motorcycle enthusiast, would have rather seen them bring back the mastiff versus this new bulldog trike. (more…)
This is an excellent example of great song writing. There is nothing complicated about it, yet it is haunting in it’s ability to make us feel something.
I guess most can relate to the spirit of the lyrics, and there are some classic lines – “I used to order just to watch her float across the floor” “The chrome and steel she rides, colliding with the very air she breaths” Neil Young at his best and if anyone thinks an uncomplicated song is therefore easy to write and get right – just try it. For many motorcycle riders, the chopper epitomizes individuality, sleek styling and naturally a true muscle machine. Choppers traditionally are not made for hairpin turns or acceleration off the line.
Choppers are made for in town-riding and cruising the highways usually no more than a couple of hundred miles from their garage. Now, with choppers being relatively just a couple of percent of the entire motorcycle population, their appearance on the highway, local motorcycle event or just the local biker bar always creates a lot of attention and admiration. Coolest start-up sound. Needs to be in a superhero movie.
It’s not a jet (turbojet) engine, it’s a turboshaft engine. A jet engine produces thrust, this produces torque. Instead of the exhaust going through a nozzle and producing thrust, it drives a power turbine attached to an output shaft instead. (more…)
