This was a crash of a Harley rider  doing motorcycle stunts at a Harley Davison bike night event in San Diego California. although the crash looks bad the motorcycle rider escaped with just a few bruises. It also looked like  the Harley just ended up with a couple of minor scrapes.

These Harley motorcycle riders were doing wheelies and other motorcycle stunts right on Marina Boulevard in front of the San Diego Harley-Davidson dealership. personally, I think you’re really stretching the envelope  when you do any type of motorcycle riding stunts. But, this is especially true when you do them on a heavy Harley-Davidson motorcycle! (more…)

Yesterday, Harley-Davidson announced  that its third-quarter profits dropped 18.7% based on lower motorcycle sales. Today,  Harley-Davidson motorcycles announced that it would be cutting approximately 5% of its workforce by the end of the year.the cuts will also affect about 70  Harley-Davison contractors.

Harley-Davison did not say where these cuts in their workforce will take place. (more…)

San Diego Women Motorcycle Riders

This was a celebration of San Diego woman motorcycle riders that occurred in an art gallery in the Logan Heights area of South San Diego.

Personally, over the last decade or so I think the number of women motorcycle riders has increased exponentially! San Diego California is the ideal setting for motorcycling. The scenery from the Pacific Ocean to the mountains and deserts all within an easy couple hour ride, make San Diego a motorcycle rider’s paradise!

It said now that women make up 12% of the US motorcycle owners. this figure is up approximately28% just in the last five years!

From a survey conducted by the Motorcycle Industry Council, they show that in 2012, about 27 million people in the US operated a motorcycle. approximately 6.7 million of these motorcycle riders were women!

This is the Official Concept Video of the iC-R (Intelligent Cranium) Motorcycle Helmet.

I understand that the manufacturer is now promising that this helmet will also have a built-in front mounted camera. The specifications of the camera were not released but I sure hope it’s at least 4K with some type of remote on all feature. Gala charity event hosted at San Diego Harley Davison.

This was the first time I ever went to a motorcycle event at Harley Davison with the cars in the parking lot outnumbered the motorcycles!

I think it was great that Harley-Davidson posted this event which was a fun for a local autism charity. I think it’s nice that the influential people in the San Diego know that the motorcycle community is an integral member and supporter of local causes. (more…)

San Diego Chopper Motorcycle GoPro Ride

Riding my 2006 American Ironhorse Texas Chopper on a really hot day in San Diego California.

The camera I am using to film this video  is a GoPro Hero 4 Black and I’m shooting at 1080, 60 frames per second  super wide  angle mode. The camera, is mounted on the right side of my helmet.

If you’re using your GoPro camera  to film your motorcycle rides, as long as it’s mounted on your body or your helmet you really don’t need a stabilizer to get good footage. But if you decide to mount the camera directly on the bike, the handlebars or the frame, it really pays to use  a three axis gimbal to get your best shots. (more…)

American Ironhorse Texas ChopperEric’s 2004 American Ironhorse Texas Chopper motorcycle. when it comes to factory manufactured chopper motorcycles, it’s my humble opinion that the American Ironhorse Texas Chopper and the Big Dog  K-9 are two of the classic and best built chopper’s!

We did this video in front of San Diego Harley Davison on Marina Boulevard  here in San Diego. many other motorcycle riders and most of the general public when looking at the Texas Chopper believe that it is a rigid frame model because of the low seat position and no visible rear shock absorbers.
