San Diego Chopper Motorcycle GoPro Ride
San Diego Chopper Motorcycle GoPro Ride
Riding my 2006 American Ironhorse Texas Chopper on a really hot day in San Diego California.
The camera I am using to film this video is a GoPro Hero 4 Black and I’m shooting at 1080, 60 frames per second super wide angle mode. The camera, is mounted on the right side of my helmet.
If you’re using your GoPro camera to film your motorcycle rides, as long as it’s mounted on your body or your helmet you really don’t need a stabilizer to get good footage. But if you decide to mount the camera directly on the bike, the handlebars or the frame, it really pays to use a three axis gimbal to get your best shots.
The last couple of days here in San Diego California, for this time of year, it’s really been a hot! Actually, I just heard that it’s been the hottest weather that we’ve seen in over 50 years! We are in a Santa Anna condition, where hot, dry, gusty winds come from our East over the desert into San Diego.
So, not only is it hot and dry but some of the wind gust can easily be over 30 miles an hour! if you’re riding in this type of weather in the mountain areas, you really want to stay away from campers and semi-trucks on the highways because they can easily be blown over into your lane.
The two bikes at my friends house in the video are a 2005 Texas Chopper and also a 2007 Texas Chopper. you can really tell somebody who’s into custom bikes when they keep their bikes in their living room! Then again, who doesn’t like to a good-looking artwork in their house?
