Actually, if you watch this motorcycle point of view video, you’ll see that there were actually two motorcyclists who were stopped, who both would’ve been killed or seriously injured if the pickup would’ve been just slightly on the right-hand side of the road.
This accident makes one wonder how it could’ve happened. After all, it’s a clear day and a straight road. Sure traffic had stopped, but what was the driver of the pickup truck doing that seem to cause them to be totally distracted? Just a guess on my part, but I would say that the high probability that the driver was either talking on their cell or texting.
