This is an excellent example of great song writing. There is nothing complicated about it, yet it is haunting in it’s ability to make us feel something.
I guess most can relate to the spirit of the lyrics, and there are some classic lines – “I used to order just to watch her float across the floor” “The chrome and steel she rides, colliding with the very air she breaths” Neil Young at his best and if anyone thinks an uncomplicated song is therefore easy to write and get right – just try it.

This song is immeasurably better than the copious amounts of sampled, repetitive, boring and unimaginative rubbish that makes money from mugs these days. Many thanks Neil Young for years of listening pleasure.(Look – not a swear word in sight – it’s easy if you learn a bit of English)
