motorcycles in California

As motorcycles are a huge part of the Southern California’s culture, it’s good to see that they are getting more representation at these formerly car only shows.

This was the first year for motorcycles in this Southern California show. From full custom motorcycles to stock full dress Harley Davidson touring cycles, there was a wide range to view.

The show was called Charger Steve’s Wild Rides & Classic Car Showdown Auto showdown 2013.

Wow, that’s funny… I just asked Karen yesterday “what’s the latest show that Bob won?”

Now you’ve just go to figure out how to monetize that performance.

I love this!

Have you signed the Filner Recall petition yet?

nothing special there….its not what it used to be

Robert Dana · August 23, 2013 at 3:24 pm

What was special there was the other video of the Harley ratbike racing a CBR1000RR. Light to light most sport bikes can’t keep up with V-Twins…even Harley’s. ; ) I’ve raced many on my Raider and never lost. A CBR will do about 10.5 sec in a 1/4 mile and the Raider about 12 sec with my minimal mods. That last 1.5 seconds for the CBR is probably the last few hundred feet so if we keep it under 1000 feet, they will likely be shamed. Light to light, not even close. : )

Dave Larson · August 23, 2013 at 3:25 pm

Sorry, but that just aint true, dude.

Your Honda crotch rockets might kick ass in the 1/4 mile, but light to light a stroker harley with gearing will EAT you alive….

wise up or stop posting bullshit…..

Andy · August 24, 2013 at 2:13 pm

Agreed Dave. I like your response.

K. .Cavaliere · August 24, 2013 at 2:18 pm

Isn’t that more a matter of v-twins favoring torque over horsepower, bringing in the torque way down low, having a wide power band and gearing for low end pull? Sports motorcycles tend to favor horsepower over torque, have the torque peak way up high, a narrower power band, and are geared for top speed?

Honestly, I don’t know, but that sounds right. I’m more into motorcycles that go around things quickly (like corners).

I’m more IOMTT/course oriented than dragstrip oriented. It’s all good.

Dave · August 24, 2013 at 2:19 pm

well I prefer drag racing…and I havent met many 4 cyclinders riders that I cant beat

So Dave…reading comprehension not one of your strong points? That’s what I said. Maybe you don’t know a Raider is an air cooled 1900CC v-twin that’s kicks everything else’s ass in it’s class. And embarrasses sport bikes light to light.

Robert Dana · August 24, 2013 at 2:24 pm

If you were talking about the Harley comment, admit it, without serious mods, they’re slow.

Dave · August 24, 2013 at 2:25 pm

Wow, you figured that out! Super!

Robert Dana · September 1, 2013 at 2:44 am

Dave, I enjoy your posts but sometimes I think you forget to take your meds. I really don’t get the point of your first response to my post or the last one. Love ya though.

Dave Larson · September 1, 2013 at 2:48 am

I do skip my meds from time to time. It’s helps prevent dependence.

Today I got a big dose of one of my meds – street class drag racing. 6 runs at Byron, IL drag strip on the 95 inch hawg with slick and stump pulling final drive.

All in the 12 second range (nothing to brag about) – but all 6 runs were gnarly/wheelie/squirrelly type deals.

I feel better….you guys let me know if you see any improvement, ok?

Robert Dana · September 1, 2013 at 2:49 am

We, or at least I don’t want you to change Dave. Glad you got your happy time in today. I’m jealous cuz I can’t ride anywhere near as much as I used to.

K. Cavaliere · September 1, 2013 at 2:49 am

If we all liked motorcycles, motorcyclists, and motorcycling exactly the same way it would be very dull.
