Best Motorcycle Roads San Diego
Best Motorcycle Roads San Diego
This is part two of my video about a motorcycle ride to Borrego Springs California. In my opinion if you are eager to ride one of the best motorcycle roads San Diego, this is it!
We rode out for the annual Borrego Days Desert Festival which was the weekend of October 19th thru the 21st. The center of Borrego Springs is Christmas Circle. For the festival, they had a car show on one day and then the other day had an off-road vehicle show. There are plenty of vendors of all sorts as well as local artist displaying their crafts. Best San Diego Motorcycle Ride
Best San Diego Motorcycle Ride
This is one of the best San Diego motorcycle rides. If you love twisty mountain roads, you really have to ride out to Borrego Springs! Plus, there are great desert metal sculptures all over Borrego. These unique sculptures make for great photo spots. Best of all is a gigantic dragon, that is so long it stretches over the highway.
This is part one of two videos about our motorcycle ride to Borrego Springs California. Borrego Springs is completely surrounded by Anza-Borrego State Park, the largest of California’s State Parks.
The best part of this motorcycle ride is when you turn off of San Felipe a road and onto Montezuma Valley Road this is about 22 miles from that turn off down to Borrego Springs. The best part of the road, at least as far as motorcycles are concerned is the last 10 miles. This is right after your ride through Ranchita and then you start down the long grade to Borrego Springs. California motorcycle shows
California motorcycle shows
Here in Southern California there are quite a lot of Hot-Rod and motorcycle shows. Probably the vast majority of the shows, because they are mixed with Hot-Rods and motorcycles, only provide a trophy for the best in show for motorcycles while the Hot-Rods usually have a number of categories for trophies.
As far as motorcycle only shows, there are just a few. Most of these, almost always have numerous categories as well as the best in show. Personally, I think these are the only fair way to judge motorcycles for these types of shows. Really, how would you judge a beautifully it restored flat track racer against a totally custom chopper?
Also, having attended a lot of the shows, I think we’re really lucky here in Southern California because a lot of the shows are totally free to enter, as they are supported by the local merchants/Chamber of Commerce in order to have an event that draws lots of people into their business areas. Insta360 One – 360° video camera
360° video camera for motorcycle rides
As far as the new Insta360 One camera is concerned, I’m actually considering selling my GoPro Hero 5 Black camera because of all the features and ease-of-use of the Insta360 One camera! For motorcycling or any action sports, I think the value this camera presents is hard to beat!
The best way to view this motorcycle ride, would be on your large-screen Smart TV in high definition. This short video was taken just after sundown riding from El Cajon California to San Diego California. The motorcycle in the video is a 2006 American Ironhorse Texas Chopper. Read more

WRONG WAY HEAD ON California MOTORCYCLE CRASH
Car was wrong way going southbound in the carpool lane of the northbound 5 freeway near Main Street in Santa Ana California.
Are you aware that California has the most registered motorcycles out of any other state in the union? Naturally most of those motorcycles are registered in Southern California. I mean with our great climate, and being able to ride from the beach to the mountains usually within an hour or so, makes Southern California probably one of the best places to ride a motorcycle.
Unfortunately, there is a downside to motorcycle riding here in Southern California. California has perhaps the highest gas tax in the country. Plus, because the State was using just 20% of the gas tax money to maintain the highways, they were in terrible condition. To solve this problem, instead of using more of the dedicated gas tax money, the politicians in California, earlier this year, decided to jack up the gas tax by over $.12 a gallon on top of what we were already paying. Now, that’s just the current gas tax increase, because this same legislation increases the amount of gas tax every year! Read more
