Smart motorcycle helmet

Crosshelmet – Smart motorcycle helmet

Motorcycles have evolved faster than helmets have . . . Well, that was then, this is now:
The CrossHelmet is a next generation motorcycle helmet with sound control  and 360° visibility that will transform your riding experience. Before you read any further, let me tell you what I think is the big downside to this helmet . . . And that is the estimated price of around $1700! I just can’t see a lot of motorcyclist spending that kind of money for a high-tech helmet. So if this company is going to be a success I hope they planned on very limited production or future price drop two under $1000.

The CrossHelmet brings state of the art technology to a safety staple that has remained stagnant for years. Our product combines integrated head-up display with 360° range of vision, sound management, and Bluetooth features to riders. It is the smartest motorcycle helmet ever.

360° VISIBILITY – We believe rear vision is an essential part of increasing rider safety. That’s why the CrossHelmet is equipped with a rear-view camera. The camera is combined with a wide-view visor that allows more road-vision and eliminates blind spots, allowing for optimum, 360° views. (more…)

How To Pick Up A Dropped Motorcycle

A demonstration of how to pick up a dropped motorcycle the easy way!

A Haley-Davidson representative doing this demonstration. How to tip your Harley back up when you drop it! Keep in mind that if you been riding a long time they say it’s not if you ever drop your bike but when you drop your bike!

On big dress bikes,. what really helps is the crash bars and bags not letting the bike actually get laid all the way over. When a bike is laying all the way on its side with no crash bar or bags to keep it at about a 45 degree angle it is definitely a lot harder to get back up. (more…)

Kickstarting a Motorcycle

Kickstarting a Motorcycle – I certainly remember those days!

Since I started riding in the 1960s I remember well kickstarting Harleys! You really had to have your bike all tuned up and be careful not to flood the engine. Even then, sometimes you had to jump on the pedal 10 or 12 times to get the engine running. This video is shows a gal kickstarting a Harley Ironhead. this bike or gal definitely has perseverance and a great never give up mentality!

It would be easier if she straddled the bike and stood on the left peg instead of kicking it sidesaddle.

You gotta kick an Ironhead way harder than a Shovel. She just ain’t heavy enough! (more…)

Harley-Davidson New Softail for 2018

Harley-Davidson New Softail for 2018 – Harley Davidson Sport Glide

Harley-Davidson New Softail – 2018 Harley Davidson Sport Glide

This bike doesn’t do justice to the original, which had a fixed functional engineered fairing(albeit a little ugly), a ton of suspension travel and mid-pegs. It was also lighter. Had lower fairings too. It was a sporty touring comfortable corner ripper(for a Harley..). It’ll appease the wannabes. Not the FXR die-hards. Millennials in skinny jeans and shorty boots will flock to it. That’s the idea I guess….

I think Harley is killing it. If they could bring their prices down to at least within 15% of their competitors they’d probably do really well. Their older customer base wasn’t real good at math, but back then, even the mentally challenged could find good paying jobs. Younger riders making that kinda dosh with the all the info in the world at their fingertips are likely far better educated and less susceptible to Harley sales BS. (more…)
