Big Dog k9 motorcycle
This is a photo of a 2006 big dog motorcycle K-9 model that I purchased last year in Arizona. Even though this bike was 12 years old, it was basically used as a garage trophy.
It had the electrical EHC upgrade as well as chrome custom wheels and rotors. But, the real outstanding feature of this bike, was that it had under 400 original miles! Now, I know this is hard to believe, but I checked the mileage on service receipts, yes, the owner brought it in annually to have it serviced. Plus, I look first scraping on the frame under the engine. These bikes sit very low to the ground approximately I believe about 4 inches clearance, so the bottom of the frame always gets scraped up going in driveways putting the bike on a trailer etc.
From owning a number of big dogs and also American iron horse Texas chopper’s that also have very little ground clearance, I’ve gotten to know about how much scraping these choppers show with different mileage. Sure this is not an exact science, but just another indicator to use when trying to determine the real mileage.

After all, and unscrupulous seller can easily spend a couple hundred dollars and buy a working either new or used speedometer to put on their bike to enhance its value. I mean I’ve seen bikes 10 or 12 years old, that have over twentysomething thousand miles on them.
As I said this is just one indicator that I use I also look at our Carfax like report that I run, where in some states when the bike was last registered it shows the mileage that was recorded at that time. But, again keep in mind that certain states, like Utah and California, when a motorcycle is over 10 years old reporting the mileage on registration and or the title is no longer required.
Also, when someone is stating very low mileage like this or even under 1000 miles, almost anyone can just look at the bike at the chrome at the paint at the foot pegs and get a good idea if that is true or not.
Well, as you can see I’ve gotten completely off the topic here! What I wanted to talk about is a piece of software that I use to create this motion affect on the still picture that you see here. It’s called and it’s made by Corel. It’s very simple to use and what it does is put motion on any part of a still picture that you want. Then it turns that still picture into a very short video in order to embed the motion.
For those of you who may be intrigued by this software see the banner below where you can get the full details about it and see various examples of what it can do. This is a terrific way to enhance not only current photos but going back into your family album or scrapbook of motorcycles that you’ve owned and really give those photos wow factor!
