This was the kickoff for the La Mesa annual ‘Back to the 50’s Car and Motorcycle show‘. The city of La Mesa is located just on the East end of San Diego, about 12 miles from the Pacific Ocean.
Starting in July and running through the end of August, every Thursday evening from 5 to8:00PM on La Mesa Blvd. the merchants sponsor this car and motorcycle show. Both admission and entry into the show are free.
Also in the San Diego area, both the city of Encinitas on the coast and the city of Escondido which is a little more inland have weekly car and motorcycle shows in the summer.
My 2006 Ironhorse Texas Chopper received the motorcycle award trophy at this kickoff show.
I have a XL1200, which I love. But one day I hope to have a real chopper like yours …. Can only imagine what it feels like to write a beauty like that.
