Motorcycle Road Rage
Motorcycle Road Rage Gets Physical
The helmet camera used in this video is NOT a GoPro, but a Drift HD Ghost action camera.
Driver of the car apparently broke his ankle when he went to the ground, which is why I’m told he did not go to jail. He has multiple charges against him including endangerment, threatening, and assault. Myself and the police officers I spoke with clearly believe he was under the influence of something. Court date pending.
Update 07/13/15: Police department officials have told me that they are still waiting for blood test results to come back to determine what if anything was in the guys system, I will keep everyone posted.
Update: 07/14/15: Thank you everyone for the positive comments and support, I have read most of all of them. Special thank you to all the Motovloggers who commented and shared my video on facebook and other platforms, you guys are the reason I decided to buy a helmet camera in the first place.
Update 07/16/15: I’ve been informed that on the day of the incident a police officer smelt alcohol on the man’s breath, when asked if he had been drinking he admitted to having 4-5 shots of whiskey prior. His full list of pending charged are as follows:
Disorderly Conduct x2
Endangerment x2
Threatening x2
Assault x2
DUI x1
The investigation is complete and has been forwarded to the state prosecution, I’ve been told it will take 30-90 days before he goes to court and/or is sentenced.
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:
Road rage is aggressive or angry behavior by a driver of an automobile or other road vehicle. Such behavior might include rude gestures, verbal insults, deliberately driving in an unsafe or threatening manner, or making threats. Road rage can lead to altercations, assaults, and collisions that result in injuries and even deaths. It can be thought of as an extreme case of aggressive driving.
The term originated in the United States in 1987–1988 (specifically, from Newscasters at KTLA, a television station in Los Angeles, California), when a rash of freeway shootings occurred on the Interstate 405, 110, and 10 freeways in Los Angeles. These shooting sprees even spawned a response from the AAA Motor Club to its members on how to respond to drivers with road rage or aggressive maneuvers and gestures.
