OCC became widely known largely through American Chopper, which debuted in 2002 on Discovery Channel. The show exposed viewers to the drama, creativity, deadlines, and custom bike builds — often on very tight schedules.
Builds were thematic, often commissioned by corporations, sports teams, etc. The show played up both the artistry and the interpersonal conflict (especially between Sr. and Jr.).

Facilities & finances:
They built a large facility in Newburgh, NY (~61,000 sq ft) in 2008.
They lost ownership of that property in 2011 to avoid foreclosure; then they leased part of it. Later the property’s ownership transferred.
Relocation: In ~2020-2021, OCC decided to close the Newburgh facility and build a new one in Pinellas Park, Florida — the OCC Road House & Museum. It includes a bike shop, museum, restaurant, event/venue space.
The new facility in Florida (OCC Road House & Museum) opened late June 2021.
Paul Teutul Sr. remains the figurehead, actively involved. A CEO & other executives run operations.
They continue designing/building custom bikes, merchandise, lifestyle brand stuff. They’re also doing events, displays, the museum aspect, etc.
Cultural Impact
They helped popularize “chopper culture” to a mass audience beyond motorcycle enthusiasts.
The father-vs-son dynamic (Sr vs Jr) became iconic, a sort of narrative arc people followed.
The show also highlighted craftsmanship, deadlines, creativity under pressure, thematic design (bikes for sports teams, corporations, etc.).
