This is part two of our two part video custom motorcycles ride to the Gaslamp Quarter of downtown San Diego California.
Orange County motorcycle riders join with San Diego custom motorcycle riders for a ride into downtown San Diego to an auto show in the Gaslamp Quarter.
San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter is a big tourist attraction and Fifth Avenue is the main street going through the district. For this auto show a number of blocks on Fifth Avenue South of Market Street were turned into a viewing area for vintage, custom and high-end automobiles.
I certainly appreciate the fact that the show organizers provided us a ‘preferred’ parking location just off Fifth Avenue on one of the side streets. But, naturally, I think the show and the visitor experience would’ve been enhanced by letting us park on Fifth Avenue in any one of a number of open spaces where show participants did not show up. But, I understand their decision and the fact that we weren’t actual show participants in an ‘auto only’ show.
As for the show itself, it seemed to give off an urban highbrow vibe. Naturally, with all the restaurants and eating establishments lining Fifth Avenue, one would not expect to see any food vendors, but what about some live music? Besides a couple of Hooters girls walking around there really was no entertainment.
Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to put the show down, but, for me personally, Charger Steve’s Pacific beach auto show (that had a motorcycle section), had lots of vendors and most importantly, had a wide range of entertainment going on throughout the day, was the best run show of this type that I’ve seen in San Diego County.

Superb !!!
Super cycles … but how about some photos of the riders!
bikes for rich suburbanites. i’d be afraid of getting my ass kicked by a hells angels riding something like those.
If you like to have fun on a bike, be my guest. I will never get on no dam bike.
Not to put bikes like those into the show was a huge mistake. Your club should set up it’s own motorcycle show … would bet it would be more popular than this show.
sexy ass cars — bikes are ok too!
how much hp on those cycles?
whaaaaaaaaaatuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuup
